After graduating from law school in the United States, Dena Falken moved to Milan, Italy. While there, she worked as a legal consultant. While working in Milan, she realized that there was a gap in the market for non-US-based legal professionals. She was alone in Italy and didn’t have the capital to start a business. Then, she founded Legal-Ease International in 1992.

In Washington, DC, she practiced law for a couple of years and realized that she wanted to combine her love of languages with her passion for the law. After a couple of years, she realized that she had a niche market. While there were no US-based legal English instructors in Italy, she decided to create her own company.
